In loving memory of Rory John Moore Nash who sadly passed away on 15th April 2019

In loving memory of RORY JOHN MOORE NASH who suddenly passed away on Monday 15th April 2019 at 4:40 Pm at the Princess Alexandra Hospital, Brisbane after a short illness.

At the time of his passing, 72-year-old Rory was surrounded by the love of his family.

Rory will be deeply missed by his wife Michele and precious children, Scott and Jessica Nash, James B Beam, and Jaime and Ben Darling.

He will be equally missed by his beloved brother Sean Nash and his so loved grandchildren James and Jade Somerville, Lauren Nash and fiancé Ben Moseley, Broden Nash and Partner Candice Buisman, Demi Richards and fiancé D’Andre Ricks, and Jesse Richards.

Rory or “Pa” as he was better known, will also be sadly missed by his adoring great grandchildren Allyra, Parker, Lyric, Alfie, Isla, and Wyatt.

Rory will also be fondly remembered by many loyal friends all over Australia from his Theatre, Television, Circus, and Radio days as well as the many wonderful people he met and worked with on the Royal Agricultural Show Circuit.

He will also be held close at heart by the Mother of his children and constant supporter, Shirley Nash and her partner Tom Muir.

All our family would like to thank the Palliative Doctors, Nurses and support staff of the Princess Alexandra Hospital for the beautiful care and attention that they showed to Rory in his last few days. We would also like to thank his amazing GP, Dr Vinothan Paramanathan for his incredible foresight and care of Rory over the last two weeks prior to his passing.

In place of a traditional Funeral Service, there will be a Celebratory Wake from 2:00 Pm Friday 26th April at the Centenary Tavern (Middle Bar) Middle Park, Brisbane. This will be a celebration of Rory Nash’s life and an opportunity to come together and remember him and what he meant to those around him.

If you would like to join us please add some colour to your outfit on the day. The brighter the better is what he would have liked. For catering purposes, please let us know if you are planning to attend.

Rory accepted me to be part of his family in the early 1980's. I'll never forget that day with the entire family sitting around the kitchen table when he said, "I hear a certain somebody wants to be a part of a certain family and I hear that certain family wants him too." From that day onwards I was treated like a Son; not of flesh but in all other ways.

I respected him in so many ways and loved him and proud to call him Dad. We may have had our differences at times and distance and life kept us apart; However, a bond was there.

I am proud to be part of this wonderful family and will always be eternally grateful for them accepting me.

I am unsure why I was not mentioned in his obituary and saddened by this; However, did want to have my thoughts recorded here.

God Bless Him Always and I will look forward to the day we meet again.

22 years of friendship. I was so very lucky to have met you, Michele and your wonderful family Rory. Your words and wisdom changed the way I lived my life for the better and they still echo and ring true today. You have left an amazing legacy in the life you have led, the people you loved and the family and beautiful wife that you shared your life with. You will be truely missed. My apologies Rory that I can’t get down there but I’ll have a quiet celebration here in Townsville and will wear a bright shirt on Friday just for you. My apologies to Michele, Sean, Scott, Jaimie, Jim, Shirley and families that I can’t be there. I’m there in spirit with you and Rory, for the gift of you, I am eternally grateful. Fly high dear matey xxxxxxxx Louise

Way back in the day when you were here in Townsville, you were larger than life. A personality on radio that I greatly admired...the epitome of cool...then you moved onto greater things.
Your eternal rest has now begun Rory......enjoy my friend......you've earned it. Miss you heaps though!
