Dear Karen,
I was shocked and very saddened to hear of Rob's untimely passing.
The Racehorse of the Year dinners won't be the same without him. My photos will be missing the star attraction!
Rob was always a true gentleman and lovely bloke to boot.
You have been my thoughts and I wish you strength during this difficult time.
Warm regards
Alison Wynd, Geelong Advertiser

To Karen & Family
it was with great sadness that we saw of Robs passing.
A wonderful man of many talents.
Whilst we have not seen you both for a number of years, both have never been forgotten, and we well remember various lunches and dinner at Puddles, as well as numerous phone calls during the year and our annual meeting
Sadly missed
We wish you well for the future
Ian & Lauretta

Hi Karen,
So saddened to hear of Rob's passing. What a beautiful service to send him on his way.

One of my fondest memories) was at the Darwin Cup Carnival one year, the evening after the Ball with yourself and Rob.

We were all around the pool at the Casino enjoying a cold one and listening to the wonderful music of Kris Kristofferson. Every time I hear one of his songs, I am magically transported back to that wonderful night in time.

Our love and thoughts are with you and yours. Please reach out if you are ever in Melbourne.

Much love as always

Marjorie and Michael Sherlock

Karen, Our thoughts and love are with you. Can’t believe that Rob will no longer be giving us a wave, wink, hug at the races. I have such fond memories visiting you and Rob with Aunty Shirley and Uncle Bob, being the horse mad girl I was/am getting to see and pat Robs pride and joy at the time is a memory I will forever hold dear, I think his name was Lethal Leigh? To dear Karen & Family,
Karen I recall very vividly and fondly the amazing good times with Rob and yourself during the good old Redan days. Rob was such a generous person with his time and advice and on every occasion we met his radiant smile made everyone feel extremely welcome. My deepest sympathy to all the family on the passing of a very special person. It was most certainly a great pleasure to have known Rob and call him a friend.

Rob was an institution in racing - willing to travel to MC and promote. I was fortunate to meet Rob 20years ago when I was CEO at Wimmera where Rob became a fixture on event days and awards nights. he headed up to NSW to MC a Gosford Cup for me nothing was a problem. absolute gentleman and will be missed by all that worked with him and called him a friend. Thoughts with Karen and family at this sad time
