Truly the end of an era. David was always my fun, garrulous uncle and I will remember him as a hale and hearty presence at family gatherings. Even in declining health he had a zest for life. My condolences to Sandy, Claire, Haley, Zoe, Dean, Vicky and Karen xx

David was a true and loyal friend as well as a valued work colleague. We shared many adventures in Sydney where we worked at the Office of Film and Literature Classification(OFLC) including climbing the Sydney Harbour Bridge, partying on New Year's Eve and exploring many bars and restaurants. He was a valued colleague whom many of the Classifiers would look to for advice. He had 'real life' experiences and was never short of a story.

We also spent considerable time together around the Gippsland Lakes given our joint love of sailing. On one occasion he fell off his boat coming to Metung and was left on his own swimming in the Lake. The boat sailed on finally running aground on the Paynesville shore. The police boat found David paddling away about one and a half hours later!

David lived his life his way. He loved those around him and his family. I will miss his company.
Peter
