I knew Grant as I always got my groceries from his shop. Always smiling and very helpful no matter what. He surely will be missed by so many people. I just can't believe that he's gone.... I hope God gives your family strength and love in this difficult moment. So sorry for your loss ?

Dear Cook Family

My heartfelt condolences to all of the family, and especially to Carter and Mia. Although I did not know your father well, I felt I knew him through your mother Colleen as our many conversations on the train and at work when we worked together in Brisbane would revolve around Grant and their adventures, their engagement, the wedding planning, the honeymoon planning, the business planning, life planning and especially the dreaming of starting a family together. I was blessed to be present at Grant and Colleen's wedding and today was deeply moved by the beautiful and spiritual service to say goodbye to Grant. It was truly poignant to be a part of the hundreds of people who came to show their respects and witness the whole community in mourning. Colleen, I will be here for anything you need and hope I can provide some support in the difficult months and years ahead.
Rest in peace Grant.

Love Jocelyn (and Cris)

Ive never written a poem but I’m struggling to deal
With the loss of your husband and the pain you must feel.
He was a loving Dad, brother, nephew and son;
A great footy player & good friend to everyone.

Yesterday I walked with a heavy heart
Knowing that yours had been ripped apart.
I’m so pleased I visited Tweed Growers, I got to meet Grant’s Dad,
He was holding it together, clearly proud of his lad.

I asked how I could help, what could I do?
“Bring Grant back”, I wish I could too.
I'll buy a 7 seater, take our kids to daycare,
Anything.. to make this more easy to bear.

I’ll be available when you need a hug or a walk,
My phone is always on if you want to talk.
You can borrow my heart as yours learns to heal
Our thoughts are with you as you attempt to deal.

If not before, I might see you at Sunday's game,
A proud grand-final played in Grant's name.

Love Skye
(13/9/16)

ps. Today's service was lovely. You spoke bravely & beautifully xx
