Ivan (Ivo) Cirak (15 May 1931 - 9 May 2016)

Ivo was a true gentleman. From the day I met him in Venezuela in 1977, he treated me with the utmost respect and we developed a wonderful caring relationship. Even with events in the past twelve or thirteen years, Ivo has supported and loved me like a daughter. We were always good friends even if I hadn't seen him for a while. Ivo was a constant presence in all our lives and we all loved him. I am glad however that Ivo died in his own home, in his own bed, in his sleep, with a loving son looking after him. We will miss you Ivo. XXX

John, Lucy, Pep and families, your Dad was also somehow a constant presence throughout most of my life. When we were kids together, you spoke of him constantly even though he was far away in Venezuela. Then he arrived in Australia and it was a privilege to meet and get to know this good, gentle man. In your adult lives you had much quality time with him and he experienced his kids as good, decent human beings. It doesn't get much better than that. Vale Ivo.
