Peter, your prayers were so moving and beautiful and perfectly captured the essence of Aunty Joan, illuminated her wonderful spirit - and highlighted for me again the blessings that she brought to me and so many others of Jesus, just perfectly said - was she an angel indeed?

Dear Ro, Mark, Janet, Peter and your families, thank you. I both cried and laughed during the service for Joan as you all so vividly told her story that showed her love for you, many others and her God. Joan and David were such a blessing to Stephen and I. Much love to you all.

WE thank God for the life and witness of both Joan and David. True mentors to us in our early years. A great influence on St Anne's East Ormond and the wider parish. Our prayers are with the family at this time as they remember a wonderful mother and grandmother

Ash and Trish are attending this funeral.

It was such a pleasure meeting Joan at Pete and Priscilla's wedding. She was as everyone has described an incredibly gentle, loving and kind spirit. Joan shared her absolute delight in being a part of Pete and Priscilla's special day. Her love for god and her family was prevalent in her eyes and spirit. We pray for Joan and share her wishes in others turning towards Gods great love. May her prayers carry her towards her savior and for her to forever rest in peace with David.
Love, Ash and Trish

Dynamic, mother and mate, fun loving, spirit directed, Christ focussed, counsellor, Good cook too, memories of Pt. Lonsdale. Joan and David ... dynamic duo, changed Bentleigh, McKinnon, Ormond residents for good and for God.
Along with this I have 2 memories. 1969. She took a large group on the train on the weekend in to hear Billy Graham. Some bloke leaned over and asked her were they all her children or was it a Sunday school picnic. 'no' she laughed, 'they are not my children and it is no picnic''...1970's ... I used to run the streets to keep fit ... one day I saw this lady running toward me keeping fit, Joan H. I didn't think people of her vintage (early 40's!!) did that other than a few young lunatics! The great thing for the family and us is that we will meet her again.

Liz de Moore (nee Brooks) is attending the funeral. I wanted to pay tribute to my lovely Godmother Aunty Joan, who was very special to me. She was an inspiration and source of strength to so many; kind, thoughtful and I greatly admired her steadfast faith. Aunty Joan was also the best sponge with passion fruit icing baker ever! I know my mum and dad will miss her greatly. My sincere and heartfelt condolences to all the family at this sad time. God bless, Liz.

Dear Mark, Ro, Janet, Peter with Ross, Kathryn and Priscilla: Joan and David were precious support for me and my family and whenever we would meet the first question your mum would always was about how my sons were doing, for whom she prayed regularly. Knowing her godly concern for me and Val and our boys was a great encouragement and fortification. She had a ready appreciation for the struggles and pains of life; in fact when I first told them both of what we as a family were going through with my son's hospitalisation she was reassuring in her subtle and indirect way. "We have just be studying Philippians 1:29 in our Bible study. Look it up. It'll be of comfort to you." Isn't she one of Christ's royal family whose good works follow her into the Kingdom of God?
