Kathleen Bourne (13 Apr 1968 - 9 Jul 2016)

I only knew Kate for a short time but I could tell from the time Megsy first introduced us, she had a huge heart and was such a kind, caring and warm person. It felt like she was a lifelong friend from the moment we met and she welcomed me into her life and her close friendship circle with open arms and her special smile. I wish we could have spent more time together, but the times I got to hang out with Kate, whether it be in Ballina, Townsville or elsewhere will always be fondly remembered. Kate's love of spending time with close friends, partying and just having fun was contagious and there was never a dull moment when she was around, always enjoying her life to the fullest in whatever she was doing. Kate is a shining example of how we should all live our lives, with love, kindness and enjoyment of every moment. I wish that I could be there to celebrate Kate's life and send my deepest condolences to her family and friends. I know that Kate will be having her own special party in heaven watching over us all.
