In loving memory of Klaus Peter Hertel who sadly passed away on 22nd July 2016

Originally from Landsberg Germany, however, better known in Central Queensland and the latter years Brisbane.

Klaus passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Thursday 14th July 2016 at the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital after a short illness. At the time, he was 84 years old.

Klaus leaves behind his soul mate and wife Genevieve as well as his much loved sons Alister, Adrian and their wives Sharon and Rosalind. Klaus or “Opi” as he was better known will also be sadly missed by his grandchildren Josef, Elizabeth and Lucy who will always remember him.

Klaus will also be remembered by much of the Australian mining industry as a Fellow of the AusIMM and senior member of Utah/BHP and Rio Tinto organisations.

Klaus will be honoured by family and friends with a farewell ceremony in the Garden Chapel of the Albany Creek Memorial Park Crematorium 400 Albany Creek Road Bridgeman Downs on Friday 22nd July 2016. The ceremony will commence at 3:00 pm.
